Mr Important the San Francisco based Interior Design firm specializing in creating indelible restaurant, nightclub, retail and nightlife experiences delights us with a take on history, art, language and diverse experiences from the gypsy culture. This mixture of elements and regions was the concept behind the Gitane restaurant in San Francisco. Appropriately located on city street off the beaten path, its eclectic and unorthodox presence accentuate its arrival. Gitane surely delivers the story of three decades through an extensive palette of color, textures and objects that narrate the complexity of the gypsy culture, music and gastronomic composition.

Australian architect Bojan Simic has designed the Orb House in Melbourne, Australia. Orb House adopts a minimalist aesthetic as a counterpoint to the heavy handed, utilitarian architectural fabric that makes up it’s streetscape tapestry. Located on a unique site descending rapidly towards the Yarra River and Yarra Bend Golf Course, it is less a protest statement than an exploration of contrasts through purity of form, a simple transparent circle in a congested patchwork quilt. A monochromatic palette of materials and textures augment the minimalist geometry of the composition. Aspect and light are dramatically introduced via frameless thermal glass curtain walls utilizing commercial glazing technology.

A successful design concept for a night club in Las Vegas consists of artistic colored lighting, finishes that are vibrant and surfaces that are dynamic and themed. The designers Mr. Important Design are not newcomers in nightclub design. They are responsible for Dolce Social Lounge and Blush together with successful retailers such as Nike and Levis. The Vanity Club is all Vegas. Textures, paneling and motives are apparent throughout the interior giving every aspect of it a particular style finish. Entering the club you walk through a swirled corridor of honeycombed textural wall finish, which brings you to the nightclub seen right there and then.

Zurich photographer Bruno Helblink took these photos of a house in Feldkrich, Austria, by Austrian studio Marte Marte. Called Haus Germann, the residence is built on a sloping site surrounded by mountains. The interior features smooth concrete surfaces as well as softwood flooring and built-in furniture.

Since transparency is common and expected, Sebastian Mariscal wanted to lead and transport people to a different place - a Latin American place. The L-shaped plan provides an opportunity to divide the space into a progression of smaller experiences until it opens up into the main dining space. Spatially, each alcove channels your experience to the rich materials, and only as you move through it, does it unfold the the flavors of Latin America and further disconnect you from the New York City street. Located in the Hell’s Kitchen, this gritty neighborhood is historically famous for its rough look, busy underworld and ethnic conflicts that inspired the West Side Story.

Swedish designers Taf have completed the interior of a store for shoe brand Camper in Malmö, Sweden, based on ice cream colours and lolly sticks.
