This house is located in a residential area of Oaxtepec, a place of exceptional natural beauty. It is contiguous to the north with the hill of Tepozteco and to the south with a highway that conduces to Haciendas de Yautepec. The lot is oriented to the northeast with a splendid sight of the Tepozteco. The natural light is filtered trough the folds of the house in shape of rays that softly flood the spaces. Reflects and shadows on walls and ceilings animate the interior.

Alan Macdonald

UK artist Alan Macdonald creates seemingly traditional paintings that have a subversive note lurking under the surface. In his works, he depicts figures in the spirit of the dutch masters in which modern products or objects have been incorporated. This strange juxtaposition is further enhanced by frequent captions written below the main image. The words in this area are often taken from contemporary pop songs, adding a new layer of meaning to the image. The combination of elements creates a narrative in each work that borrows from the world of art history as much as contemporary popular culture and music.

Museum Plaza rethinks conventional attitudes towards property development. It begins with a vision to construct a contemporary art institute and concludes with a business pro forma that supports this commitment. Culture is placed physically and spiritually at the project’s center.

Casa Monte na Comporta.

Casa Monte na Comporta in Grândola, Portugal is a house that sits in its surroundings as if it had always been there yet it also manages to look completely fresh
The house’s undulating shape echoes the gently sloping sand dunes, and its hard and angular surface planes contrast beautifully with the rounded shapes of the surrounding trees. The sky, the trees and the water in the pool provide all the color. Tactile texture is everywhere, inside and out. Light and shadow become the main players. The entire dwelling exudes organic calm. Although it seems so, this house was not built into existing dunes. The exact opposite happened. Luis Pereira Miguel and team at Lisbon-based Pereira Miguel Arquitectos, built the dunes so that they could situate the house under them.
Pereira Miguel is a multi-disciplinary firm that works with various collaborators in Portugal and around the world. The seamless conversation between nature and house, surroundings and building is a theme visible in many of the firm’s projects but none as distinctively as in the Dune House.

Kazuhiko Kawahara.

Kazuhiko Kawahara is a japanese architect and photographer who creates mesmerizing images of landscapes and infrastructure. Kawahara uses digital manipulation to morph and transform buildings into strange sights that explore the limits of form. The works suggest that kawahara uses the technique as a way to prototype buildings or even imagine new ones. He usually shoots buildings which are very banal and boring to people in an attempt to reveal the hidden structures and systems.
